Several years ago I bought a new Sanyo tv from wal mart it lasted less than 60 day's before it lost picture. It was under 90 days so wal mart refunded the thing, so I Bought a different brand called Element made in South Carolina which started acting odd (screen showing light when it was off) Otherwise it was working fine The Element tv lasted about 6 years ( living room TV) On daily from around 7:30 AM till just after 11 PM . My roommate watches too much TV!!! Replaced it with 24" inch screen Onn TV From Wal Mart. The Tv In my bedroom is a emerson 22 inch that was bought new from Wal Mart back in 2012! If you think Tv lasting 6 years was bad , My replacement HP laptop which wasn't used as much is Junk. The HP that it was supposed to have replaced is the same one I have had since Christmas 2012! BTW the other HP is about 4.75 years old. The hinge started going bad on one side causing the screen casing to pop apart on that side. Then the bottom of the computer developed a big crack . Never dropped or abused! Funny thing is the 12 year old Hp lap top slid out of a carrier case and landed on a brick floor at our Local Mc Donald's ! the only damage it got was a small chip off the plastic case amd a minor crack on the keyboard case area.... But check this out, the Havasu Tribe still has the road closed because of Covid. The red dashed line is a Forest Service road that is closed to motorized vehicles, so I'm taking the mountain bike, before that's banned too. What a handy excuse to keep people out. When my dad roamed the wilderness, he could drive literally anywhere.

I was doing facility management for a real estate company when an opportunity opened on another account which seemed for more interesting. The previous person had left the company and I would have been a good fit. I applied for the job and had an interview scheduled but they called a day before and told me they moved the overnight guy to that position. They went on to ask if I would be interested in the overnight position. I said I already fell for the dog & pony show once so I will take a hard pass thanks. Ace-Garageguy
No big deal, just feel like I'm getting a head cold and want to whine about it. Probably take care of some business, then knock off early. It is, after all, Friday the 13th.

May not cure the cold, but you may not care anyway.

EDIT: Though research results are inconclusive for vitamin C and zinc having any beneficial effect on colds, I rarely get "sick"...and even though I've probably had 3 different strains of the dreaded bat flu, nothing was worse than a mild case of regular flu...just different. Tim W. SoCal
I don't believe in the Friday the 13th curse, it IS, after all, just another day on the calendar. I start work at 3:00am. I jump into my service truck this morning to head for my first job and the TPMS low tire pressure light is on. Monitor shows 46psi in an 80psi tire. There was a large, long screw through the tread on a tire with less than 5,000 miles of use. On goes the spare. (at least this was found at the base facility on not on the road!) Then, I get to my first job, it is still dark outside, break out my high-falutin' LED flashlight, which worked perfectly yesterday, and the batteries are dead. No problem, I have spare batteries. NOPE! - someone helped themselves to my spares...

johnyrotten
Looking at my truck this morning. That irked me, it's repairable, but the principle of the situation really grinds my teeth to the roots. 20-something year old drunk at 1:30 in the afternoon decided to use it instead of the brake pedal.
NitroMarty
Driving home on the busy main drag through town (4 lane, though six with turn lanes where this occurred), after picking up a prescription at the drugstore this morning. Just as I entered an intersection, some tool on a bicycle blows through a red light from my right... Had to slam the brakes (as did drivers in the incoming lanes). I laid on the horn and the d-bag turns and flips me off. Keep in mind, this was no kid thinking they're invincible... This is a grown man, wearing all the d-bag bicyclist gear. Upside down, backward plastic bedpan helmet, spandex pants, goggles, etc..... No wonder drivers have no respect for them. (The kicker is that there is a bike path that goes under the road, less than 20 yards north of this particular intersection) Edited September 22 by NitroMarty Spelling 1

As someone who rides a motorcycle, I'm just amazed at some people's lack of general intelligence while controlling a vehicle. Bicyclists seem to be the worst . If you are on a public road, follow the "rules" of the road. I'm no Saint while driving, but I don't intentionally drive/ride as if I own the road. Lance Armstrong is lucky he wasn't turned into a "meat crayon".
rattle can man
the traffic law I was never taught: you must stop to merge at a lane closure and cause a major back-up. Then drive 20 through the zone, even though it is posted 55 and no workers present.

Then drive 20 through the zone, even though it is posted 55 and no workers present. The PD around here has been promoting what they call a "Zipper Merge" when there is a lane closure for construction. The problem is that the drivers around here just race up to where the lane is closed and latterly but their way into the slow-moving lane and everyone has to brake to keep from hitting them and the drivers behind the guy that just got cutoff has to hit his brakes to keep from rearending the guy in front of him, and this "shock wave" of braking goes back through the lane of people patiently waiting their turn until someone gets rear ended. All because some brain surgeon thought that a "Zipper Merge" was the answer. The local body shops love this new idea.
