rattle can man Posted January 23 Posted January 23 My car has auto braking. It likes to apply the brakes when the light has turned green and I'm 1/4-1/2 way through an empty intersection. no cross traffic, pedestrians, animals, signs, or anything.ALso with on coming trafic when the road curves and I'm in my lane and they are in theirs. I so need to get my brake job done on my '93 and let her drive the '18
TonyK Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Fed Ex. They were supposed to pick up a pre-paid Fed-Ex package from us yesterday morning but didn't show up. Wife called at noon and they said they'd be here in 2 hours. 5pm and still no pick up so wife calls and they have the address and confirmation # all wrong. Said they'd pick it up today. It's some stuff the wife had to do to be sent to a lab and can't do it on the weekend so supposedly they'll show up Monday. Fed-Ex sucks!!! 3

Watching the FedEx tracker, the meds made three depot stops (each one farther from me house) over the course of four days. Chewy said I would have it two days. Just give me the address as the starting point on the tracker, I could have made a 90 minute round trip and picked them up! Edited January 26 by HomerS

Had a similar situation years ago (not meds) where FedEx wouldn't deliver a Chewy order because of the weather. I told them I've been out driving around the streets and I could drive to the FedEx place and pick it up myself! It was about half hour from me.
slusher Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Fed Ex always use to damage my furnace filters. They have been better now..
johnyrotten Posted January 29 Posted January 29 The shower broke when I got home from work, and naturally the orange big box store did not have the cartridge to repair the issue. Pulled it apart and flipped the cartridge upside down, shower works now, I can live without the tub spout till the weekend. Plumbing work in winter. Yay. 3

Any history on the fed ex accident? Here in Montana you always know who the truck is that spun out, twisted up, jack knifed or anything else stupid on snowy hills or mountains = Fed Ex every time ! And people think Swift drivers are bad... 3 1

I was getting pretty smelly a few weeks back when my point-of-use propane-fired shower water heater quit, I ordered a new unit from Home Despot, and UPS repeatedly told me my address didn't exist (though they'd delivered to this address repeatedly in the past), or that delivery had been attempted and nobody was home (though I made a point to be home every day the thing was posted as "out for delivery" on their website). Eventually, delivery from the warehouse one state away, that had been estimated to take two days, took over a week (and had I not gone to a UPS store that could do NOTHING but give me a "direct" customer service number that rang in India, I'd still be waiting). 1

Engine 51 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Snow/ice. Went to check the mailbox and ended up on my backside. Was down before I realized what happened. Sore wrist, arm and hip. At least once every winter. I sooooo HATE this weather.

Seems like you can't count on anyplace having what you need , let alone a shipping company actually getting it to you. And IF it shows up, it's junk out of the box. I'm my case, this is a cheap 3 handle set up, I'd be better off changing the whole unit, but of course, old house, water shut off doesn't work so I have to kill the water at the well and that's not happening on a Tuesday in winter. Funny thing is we planned renovating the bathroom this spring. Murphy's law. Edited January 29 by johnyrotten Typo 3

rattle can man Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Have to agree. If you get what you ordered it is either junk or does not fit. I bought brand new everything (drums, shoes, hardware, and bearings_ to rebuild the all original rear brakes on my Ford Festiva. Compressed the cylinder all of the way and still can't get the drum on. I guess it's modification time. 1

Did you reverse them by mistake?
Dave Ambrose Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Aside from being somewhat out of focus, what's wrong with this picture? That envelope plainly says "Do Not Bend". Normally, our post man is great about this. Magazine along with the rest of our mail is on the doorstep. I'm assuming that someone else was doing his route yesterday. Fortunately the mag isn't heavily damaged. 3

TonyK Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Egg prices. I couldn't make myself buy a dozen at the store but I'll have to eventually. I wonder how restaurants are dealing with this on their menu prices. Got to be a nightmare. 2
stavanzer Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Cell Phone troubles. Charging Port is broken. I've tried different Charger cords. Not the Cord. Something broken in the port itself. Off to get a new phone (maybe)

Might be worth a shot? Edited January 31 by johnyrotten Spelling 1
