Hey everyone, I cleared a car two days ago (GTO) with lacquer and there are a few bad spots that I can sand out. But since it's going to be very humid here for the next few day's and I paint outside I thought maybe I could just put Pledge over the laquer. Are the spots that I sand going to show through the Pledge? That's the question, thanks.

I'm thinking the answer would be no, 'Cause the Pledge is not gonna cover the sanding marks, they will show through. My detemination after much deliberation.

Gene I just saw this so here goes. The nature of laquer is such that once sprayed all the coats "merge" into each other. Future will not add to the finish as there is no way to blend it in like the original clear coat. I feel your pain as I lived most of my life across the state in St Louis, MO.

Thanks G, for the info on the clear coats, I thought no one cared, lol. Ya, the weather here is far from ideal for painting outside much of the time. I've got a Willy's I've been working on too that I just used Pledge on 'cause I can brush it on inside. Jeez, that laquer stunk up my house for hours after I brought it in. It looks beautiful though, excluding the few blemishes I have to clean up. I think overall it looks better than the Pledge. Build on!
