TooOld Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) This didn't turn out the way I planned and it's not as wild as the real car , but here it is . I'm planning on repainting it in a brighter color and probably changing the wheels and tires . Any suggestions are welcomed . Thanks ! Edited February 22, 2020 by TooOld
rmvw guy Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I like it as is, why not build another? The engine looks terrific, I like the wheels and tires and the seats.
Erik Smith Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I think it turned our great. A little different take on the Manx. I like the dark blue color and the wheels. Great work.
Craig Irwin Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I must agree, don't tear it up, build another one!

TooOld Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 I think it turned our great. A little different take on the Manx. I like the dark blue color and the wheels. Great work. Thanks very much Erik !
TooOld Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 I must agree, don't tear it up, build another one! Thanks Craig ! I'm going to build another , but I can repaint this one without damaging it . All of the body trim , the rollbars , and the body are just glued down with some Micro Liquid Tape . Great stuff , it will hold forever but comes apart very easily with no damage !
Speedfreak Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) Bob, Since you can re-paint it without tearing it up, I think a brighter color will really bring this thing to life, that's actually the first thing I thouight of when I saw the dark color. Maybe something in the primary color spectrum: red, yellow, green, etc,.... Orange is actually the complimentary color for blue, so it would work with anything that's blue on the car that you wanted to leave, plus , it would go with the gray seats! Just some thoughts,..........Nice work though, and the paint job itself looks beautiful. BTW, I just got some of that liquid tape, glad you like it. Edited November 21, 2013 by Speedfreak
Skydime Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I like it as is, why not build another? The engine looks terrific, I like the wheels and tires and the seats. You took the words right out of my mouth! This is a cool little Manx in its own right.
fantacmet Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I like when they are done more modern like this. They look great. There was one I saw once I want to do, it was sitting on modern 18" wheels, had a Chev 350 mated to a Porche transaxle, and it was lookin good with a nice modern bright green metallic.
o-man Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I'm with everybody else; leave it and build another. I like it as it sits, but I'm not the one who has to be pleased.
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Great looking little car. All your mods really work well, nicely done.
slusher Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Excellent looking build. Why mess with such a good looking build. Build another one Bob excellent work....
hemi Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I think its beautiful,I would love to have a set of those side pods you made for it.
PappyD340 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I don't see any reason to redo it either, looks great just the way it is!!
FASTBACK340 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Don't touch it ! I agree, build another if you have more ideas. Dune Buggy's are like `32 Fords: no two are alike as there are a million interpretations. Sweet build, I see nothing wrong with the finished car. I like it alot.
David G. Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 This one is excellent, build another one. David G.
