curt raitz Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Yep another Formula One Model This is Fujimi's #422-8033 1/20th scale model of the Sauber C30 Sergio Perez drove inj the 2011 Japanese Grand Prix. One of the guys who purchased a few of my built F1 models sent me this kit and Fujimi's Ferrari F2012 to build for him Very, very nice kit, curbside, excellent decals c'ya thanx for lookin'... footnote...I've fixed the excessive wheel camber on the right front wheel since these photos were taken - ooofta!
Rossa156 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Love it! Thanks for posting your work. Patrick
PatW Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Having an F1 track on the doorstep I see a lot of different team cars. So this build is very similar in fact so similar it could be a real one. Well done for a great build.
bbowser Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Great model. I love to see F1 and Indycars on here.
Peter Lombardo Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Its a beauty.....I built the same car, different driver version, but you sure did a great job on it.....I got that kit because I like the paint and sponser markings....I was happy to see that Fujimi gave us the painting masks for the color break. As usual, you did a great job on it...very clean.....P.S., isn't the front wing a royal pain in backside getting it right!.....come to think of it, I found the tire markings difficult too, with all of the components to them. Again, nicely done Curt.

Peter thanx You are right about the front wing...over 15 parts to it and very delicate, just hope I can pack it safely for it's ride to Germany! the tires were another adventure...thru trial and error found the best method was to first apply the "P Zero", then both of the "arc stripes" followed by "Pirrelli" centering it between the stripes...did a little trimming on the stripes for fit. I didn't like the finish so brushed on a little Microscale Clear Flat to even it out again thanx Curt

Peter Lombardo Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Wait, I know....the guy who asked you to built it lives in Germany.....got it.......had to think about that a minute. Duuh.
sjordan2 Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Great job, and especially so in getting the front wheel camber just right. Does the kit allow for that or did you have to play with it?
Speedfreak Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Nice to see an F1 car! Great work Curt. Now let's see some Grand-Am cars!
Nacho Z Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 It is nice to see a F1 that is not one of the "big boys", i.e. Ferrari. She looks great Curt. I am happy to see this built. You have done a great job of it. I have looked at this kit many times but have not bought it. You say it is a very nice kit so that is good enough for me! Maybe Santa will bring me one .
