Porscheman Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I couldn't deside which way to 2 tone this one. Light on top or dark on top, so this is what I came up with. Hope you like it. Paint is Testors spray can Ultraviolet Pearl and Diamond Dust, with Wet Look Clear top coat. The interior is matching and Tamiya Clear Blue tinted the windows. I used MV's for the Headlights to simulate Xenon lights. Wheel and tires were from Revell's 65 El Camino kit Let me know what you think. Thanks, Al
jeffs396 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Waaaay cool Al You sure do crank out some builds!
PappyD340 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 That's one way to do it Al, and it looks extremely NICE, you get the best of both worlds, I like both ways myself, very innovative!!
crazyjim Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 The SHINY :) I like, but not the different 2 tones.
Austin T Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Sweet idea. Kinda reminds me of the Year one(?) ad's in hot rod where it showed one car but one half was a show car and the other half was pre-restoration.
o-man Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 That is cool! I thought about doing something like that with wheels. Very inventive.
charlie8575 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 It's a creative exercise, that's for sure. The break between the two paint-jobs is very clean. Whether anyone "likes" it or not, nobody can deny your usual clean, well-done building, Al. Charlie Larkin
hotrod59f100 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 It reminds me of a red bull can . It's deffinitly cool
Porscheman Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 Thank you for your nice comments. Every once and a while I need to think outside the box. Whether you like it or not, it was a fun challenge and the paint came out perfect. Al
realgone58 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Not a usual build for you, but pretty wild. If you get tired of one side, just flip it around in the case!
Ramfins59 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 It's a little strange, but nice at the same time. I like the darker color at the bottom better too.
1972coronet Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Since you asked... it doesn't work for me. Well , it does have mirrors ...
Greg Cullinan Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Wasn't expecting this. I like how each side is like a totally different ride. Very creative and outside the box.
Porscheman Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 Thanks again guys. I used Frog Tape for the 2 tone, it makes the sharpest lines and it's much cheaper than BMF and does just as nice of a job. Al
Harry P. Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Well , it does have mirrors ... That's true...
TFchronos Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Wow so awesome, I had the exact same idea, it looks so cool!!!
Zarana-X Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Looks like something that would be done on a demonstration car.
