Started my new project last night. Picture059.jpg

It was missing the rear spoiler when I got it off ebay 3-4 months ago, so I got one from Modelhaus. While looking it over and mocking it up. I noticed the concave filler piece between the taillights and the spoiler/ down around the rear of the quarterpanels to the bumper was missing, no mention of it in the instructions either. I am also redoing the blue '71 promo while building this kit and the filler piece is molded on this one, molded on a friends Johan George Follmer Javelin kit too. AAAaaarrrgggghhhh!!! Now for my questions....Does anyone know anything about this part? Why it's molded this way? Why mine is missing? Modelhaus sells replacement taillight panels, is this filler panel included? I am going to email Modelhaus with my questions also. Any insight into this is appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob

Don't know all the specifice except that JoHan was REALLY relaxed about year-to-year changes... I saw many errors in their kits for many yyears, and it seems this was probably another sign of that slop. Perhaps another trip to the resin caster is in order...

If I could find a good late Javelin I'd do the Alabama State trooper car I saw back then...

Funny you should mention it. The new issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines has an article on an Alabama Trooper 72 Javelin clone. The idea to build one has crossed my mind a few times, but I'll probably stick with my original plan.

Yeah, I noticed the newer style roof, but it was going to get the split vinyl roof as a '72, so I figured it wouldn't be noticeable. I ordered the proper taillights and panel from Modelhaus earlier this week, and will get another promo to do a 72 AMX later. Wish I would have known all this and just got a promo to begin with, but that's the way it goes. Thanks
