jeffs396 Posted December 25, 2013 Author Posted December 25, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the encouraging words Bill, means ALOT coming from you! My thing about using a 'hardtop' for a 'vert uptop is that the underside will not have the 'peaks-n-valley' that a softop has Thanks for the reference pics, those will help a bunch. Also, so sorry to hear of your Father's passing...most sincere condolences to you & your family. Glad to see you're back at the bench now MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!! FASTBACK340 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) Jeff…. Jeff…. Jeff…. Where's your `Cuda? I want to see your convertible conversion go together since you inspired another drop-top build. I'd hate to finish mine before you…. but it's been a while since an update. I don't want to seem like I "stole your idea"…… which I totally did. I've been polite and dropped enough hints. Now I'm getting razzed for not posting pictures. I was hoping you'd have yours done first, or at least further along, since it WAS your idea to cut one up first. Just trying to share some build etiquette here. Edited January 12, 2014 by FASTBACK340
jeffs396 Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 Hey John, get your build thread going with pics! With my short attention span, I don't get many finished I've got a bit of progress since my last post, but not enough to be photo worthy. I'm anxious to see how you tackle a few things, and we can bounce ideas off of each other, so get going! A pink 'Cuda convertible, huh? I'm glad you're secure in your manhood! LOL
mademan Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Looks great. The tires come in the AMT Wagonrod, and 32 Phantom Vicky kits. Mike, neither front nor rear tires are Pegasus...the rears are unknown (Corvette?) Goodyears, size 335/35R/20 from the parts box, and fronts are from the Cuda kit for the 'custom wheels'. Guys, I've played around with the remnants of the kit lid that I cut free, and also the optional top from the Challenger kit Roger posted a pic of, and both would require tons of work to look like a softop. I think either modifying an existing convertible uptop or scratching one as Roger suggested would be the best option. An uptop for me is not a deal breaker, it looks good top down with a boot too Thanks for the continued interest everyone, hopefully I'll get some progress over the next few days...
