ZIL 111V Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Is the White Freightliner "SD" version made by AMT in '72 a copy of a"special order" tractor made exclusively for Consolitaded Freightways: precise length of frame & day cab dimensions, specialy adapted for their "pup" twin trailers, or was this single drive model available to all truck fleets with this frame & cab mesures? Heard many years ago that this specfic model was a 6 wheeler CF exclusivity
mackinac359 Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 The AMT White-Freightliner SD was close to the CF specs but not a true representation. The CF trucks had: Single exhaust, behind cab air cleaner, air starter tank, bobbed bumper, center rear window, small horn, small roof lights, painted steel wheels and no visor. Tim
CFnutcase Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 The single drive freightshakers were available to anyone, CF ran them, as did P.I.E. and many other companys that ran doubles. Just have a look on hanks site and you will see many versions and companys running them. Jim
Ayatollah Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 UPS and Kroger come to mind. That was quite a while ago.
