ok, ok, i am as guilty as sin, and i suppose Santa is gunna put a large pile of fecal matter in my stocking, but to be honest, i really hate suprises, especially christmas. I gave my wonderful wife a list of kits that i want for christmas, and by golly, she got me my top 4 kits. How did i peek?? well, after my kids went out to play, i carefully took my exacto, and some tape, and cut on the tape, exposed the end to see what it was, and low and behold, i got 4 of the model king funnycars i wanted!!!!! i then re-taped the ends. Nobody the wiser!!! :P

I did'ent have to snoop around for mine. I ordered them. the bad thing is, I can't touch them until December 25.

here's what I ordered: Infinitee dragster, Stingeree dragster, MK Challenger f/c and 40 ford modified. This is going to be a great Christmas, Every year I ask for a model or two. but only my sister-in-law gets me a model. This year I took matters into my own hands and told my wife I will order the kits I want for Christmas. All she has to do is Wrap them.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

I have in the past. Once it was at my mom's house. One of the things she got me was a "clapper" key chain since I was always losing my keys. You know, clap your hands and it beeps a few times. This was right around the time of "The Sarcastic Clapping Family" sketch on Saturday Night Live. My 2 younger brothers and I kept getting sarcastic with each other, saying things like "Oh, brilliant performance, Bill" and then do the whole slow clap thing. Of course the key chain would start beeping. We'd pretend we didn't know where the sound was coming from and my mom worried that I'd find out before I opened it.

I never would expect my wife to be able to get the models of my choice. I am also a model railroader, and being a fussy hobby guy, lay people have a very hard time discerning what is good and what is department store variety. So, I always told both of my wives and now that I am separated, to my girlfriend, to not even think of getting me a toy, but instead the stuff that I would not necessarily get on my own, such as special good smelling colognes, nice pajamas, a new shirt or something like that.

The other thing is that my wish lists for both hobbies is pretty well fulfilled, believe it or not. I am now just enjoying building.

Not getting any models as gifts from my loved ones, but I'm getting a 30GB Microsoft Zune. I took my Wife to Office Depot last Sunday and got the last one in Tulsa that was on sale for $129. This was mere hours before we lost our electricity for 4 days.

My girls are each getting a new 4GB Zune, one pink and one red.

I'm not a "snooper" but I know exactly what I'm getting Model, wise. My girlfriend has disabilities, so I need to take her just about everywhere. The rest of my family takes me to choose. Nobody really know what I have, lol. I'm getting two Revell Choppers, one of those four packs of AMT kits from Wally World. It has 49 merc. 55 chevy, 56 ford vicky, and 58 chrysler 300c custom.

Oh yah, I got my kids both Revell snaps. One is the 63 Corvette Conv (for my 8 year old daughter) and the other is a 70 Chevelle (for my 6 year old son).

I snooped once when I was about 12 years old. My family had an upstairs storage room and my mom would "hide" all the Xmas gifts in bags. We rarely went in there, but one of us heard "santa" stashing gifts late at night.

So when my parents were out, me and my brother took a look. One thing was an AMT kit of the gull winged Mercedes, which I didn't ask for. So we were talking about our Xmas lists at dinner and I mentioned wanting that Mercedes kit. Mom being no dummy didn't say a peep.

Xmas came and went and I realized that no Mercedes kit had materialized for anyone. I said nothing and it was forgotten about until my birthday came around 2 YEARS LATER, guess what I got? That cured me for Xmas snooping for all time, I have never looked around for previews for any holiday or personal annual event.
