Terminator-Fox
So most of my kits are older and I've read about the shelf life of waterslide decals. I'm coating the decals in Microscale liquid decal film which is working thus far to keep them from breaking apart. I also use Microscale decal set once the decal is on the surface but I notice as the decal dries it will start to fold up on the edges in a lot of cases, I'm thinking there is hardly any glue left to keep the decal down and adhere to the surface. Any tips or suggestions to aid in preventing this or a product to help adhesion? I'm building a race car with a lot of decals and the kit is from '06. Thanks! Harry P.
Here's one way to go about it: Mix your decal water 50/50 with Future. Future is clear acrylic, so mixed into your decal soaking water, it'll help the decal to stick. You can also paint the area to receive the decal with 100% Future, then apply the decal. It'll stick just fine. You might want to give the body an overall clear coat after all the decals have been applied... just to even things out,
Terminator-Fox
Thanks Harry, I've been using Future to coat my glass and lenses and was wondering if it could work for decals. I usually put the decals on the painted surface then spray the clear on top of the decals and paint. I'll have to try this
