Bobcat205 Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Hi all, I have a question about the types of spoke rims used on AMT trailers. I know the most common ones used are 5 spoke, But were any AMT trailers equipped with the old Webb 3 spoke wheels? These were never used on drive axle's, But once in a while they can be seen on a tag axle on a log truck. Here are a couple pictures of what I'm talking about. These pics are from one of are old storage trailers, This trailer is a '68 Gindy 40' with a roll up door. We also have some old chain dump and tanker trailers at work that have the old webb 3 spokes. I always liked them because they're cool looking and they are easier to line up and balance than the 5 or 6 spokes. - Brad
Superpeterbilt Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 AITM sells them in resin. I have some on a dump trailer and a lowboy. A lot of the old trailers I remember had those wheels.Youll have to email Dave and ask, because there not on the webpage. There in the old catalog from M.T.F.C.O, but Dave has sold them to me before.
scummy Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 In australia we used to have them on lowloader trailers that carried heavy loads as the wedges ( dogs ) covered almost the whole rim .
lapazleo Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 friend of mine had them on the drives of a 71 diamond reo. only ones I ever saw on drives.
Superpeterbilt Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 friend of mine had them on the drives of a 71 diamond reo. only ones I ever saw on drives. Ive never seen that either. Are there any pics if that truck?
lapazleo Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 No pics unfortunatly. Truck was very similar to AMT's kit.
lapazleo Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Ive never seen that either. Are there any pics if that truck? The blue and white DR tractor you posted is identical to it exept the stacks were behind the bunk same color and all
