mikevillena
In the interest of getting more "lurkers" and/or rank beginners involved in the forum and the hobby in general, we ought to have a "Beginner's Corner" sub-forum. First time modellers and kids can share their builds and quite possibly get advice, help and encouragement from the more experienced members. One can imagine how intimidating the forum is considering the extremely high quality and craftsmanship on display so a less "demanding" platform might be more appealing. Just my two cents. EDIT: An additonal thought....if such a sub-forum is created, we as a collective should exercise restraint in replying and resist the temptation to spam the poor novice's thread with photos of master builds no matter how well meaning the intention may be. Nothing is more demoralizing than having one's work forcibly compared to someone else's "masterpiece" (which seems to happen all to frequently around here). Brizio
I would like to watch/ready every post, but I don't have too much time.
Baugher Garage
I enjoy viewing classic car and truck projects, on the workbench and under glass, and the diorama section. Always check "View New Content" to see recent stuff. Totally ignore NASCAR, Big Boys and the commercial trucks... sorry guys (and gals?). Danno
I consistently check one special category: "New Content." I read anything that looks interesting and I try to review every "Under Glass" build I can. I don't ignore any categories but I totally ignore two posters. Pete J.
There are categories on this forum?? Seriously, I really don't pay much attention to categories. Like many,I generally scroll through the new items and if a word in the title jumps out at me, I look. Things that get my attention: Tamiya, Porsche, Ferrari and other foreign makes, F1, La Mans, and WRC. Also scratch built, tips and techniques, big boyz, Auto I.D. and real or model if I were to name categories. I totally ignore drag and NASCAR and hot rod. Just not my thing. Jantrix
I use the View New Content and will then select anything that seems interesting, but I routinely ignore Big Rigs, Nascar, Large Scale just from a lack of interest.
Roger U
I like to check out the General, Workbench, Under Glass, Real or Model, and Off Topic sections. Most other sections I will occasionally look at. I ignore drag racing, NASCAR, hot rods, and muscle cars, just not interested in them. The subjects I do like are sports cars, road racing, world rally, and land speed record cars. Also, enjoy seeing some of the beautiful stock street cars and exotics you guys build. Foxer
I don't pay attention to categories unless I'm starting a new thread. I always peruse the board with View New Content so I don't miss anything and go into the ones that look interesting to me ... and most new Under Glass subjects. I like all good models. Funkster
If its a Mopar I'm in. I do others, but like the 57 Chevy its has a HEMI in it, or like the 57 Ford it has a 440 cid in it. Like I say all you can do is make them better by sound and speed.
bbowser
I check General, Under Glass, Big Boyz, car kit reviews, and NASCAR (my first love, what got me back in the hobby years ago ). Occasionally light trucks as I've posted a few. If I have time I surf the others but not consistently.
sjordan2
Plowboy's list is pretty much what I was looking for. This probably should have been a poll/questionnaire, but I don't know how to do that. I just think there's a lot to be learned here from this sort of inquiry. Guest
I tried the View New Content option once and don't like it at all. I didn't like having to wade through countless threads trying to find the threads I was interested in. That lasted about five minutes for me and I was out. To each his own. tbill
mostly big rig topics, but I do bounce around quite a bit, depends on my mood and what I am building at the time, or if I have bought a kit, I look for topics regarding it [reviews/wip's/under glass], or whatever interests me in the new content thread. don't look at nascar or die cast really. I just think there's a lot to be learned here from this sort of inquiry. One thing uncovered: NASCAR was popular enough when this thing started to rate it's own category, now hardly anyone posts or visits there and you can't give those kits away here or on eBay! Harry P.
Plowboy's list is pretty much what I was looking for. This probably should have been a poll/questionnaire, but I don't know how to do that. When you start a new topic, click on "Manage Topic Poll" on the right. Once you have entered your poll questions, click on "Finished," add whatever text you want in your post, and post it. It's very simple. You can always try it as a test and post it. Just delete the post once you see the results.
