59 chev Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 This may not be news to some, but it was to me! I picked up some Scotch "Artist Tape for Curves" at my local craft store, works great for masking off curves. It is 1/8th inch (3.1 mm) wide, stretches around curves (within reason) without wrinkling or pulling up and leaves a clean line. I've been using the yellow Tamiya tape and it works great, but this stuff beats it on curves.
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Great tip, but I can beat that. Micron tape by Aizu Project is a similar tape compound to Tamiya and comes in widths as narrow as 0.4MM!!! Look at HLJ.com and other Japanese online hobby stores.

Back in the day I had to carve my own masking tape out of wood, after walking three miles in the snow to get a knife ...
