This project started as a diecast JADA 67 Impala. I removed the roof and added a roof from a 65 Malibu diecast. I then added the post and redid the taillights. Smoothed and filled everything and removed the vent windows. A cowl induction from A/FX resin was molded to the diecast hood. I then molded the bumpers to the body with the front bumper modified and yes that opening is for an intercooler. That is a diffuser under the rear, I just added the subtle trunk lip spoiler today. There is also a spoiler placed under the front bumper. The inside headlights were removed to simulate a twin turbo set up. They were done by using aluminum tubing flared out to fit the headlight bezels. The turbos were done by using the heads from two Dremel grinding bits to simulate turbines from a turbo (still some detailing to do to them). In the interior a dash from a Danburymint 67 GTO, the cluster was cut down from a 1:18 diecast 67 GTO. The bezels and steering column are my first attempt at machining (Thanks to Dirk Joseph). The one thing that is a lil different from most pro touring type cars....if you notice where the glove box should be I took the MSD and ignition components that are found in the interiors of the most NASCAR kits, cut it to fit and then placed it there. Practical...probably not but just wanted to do something different (enough TV's and DVD's) and I'm trying to go for that sort of "super car" kind of pro touring. I hope when I finish detailing that area it will give the car a lil race inspired flavor. The car will be painted an Alpine green pearl...sort of resembles a 60's type of color. The hood and trunk along with the diffuser and front spoiler along with some interior pieces will be covered in CF. And most likely the center of the rims will be also painted (gun metal or something similar). It's been slow and yes this is a curbside....but thats what I do....But I always try to give my curbsides just a lil bit more. Hope you guys like.

Thanks

J. Ruiz

I met Jay about a year ago and he "wowed" me with his stuff. Since then, we've been chatting about models and machining. IMHO, his Biscayne is simply bad ass. Although it is diecast and doesn't have the engine details many might want to see, the curbside appeal of this project is right down my alley. It's low; has tons of subtle changes that most won't even notice, but enhances the design; and looks like it would drive like it's on rails. Jay's goals is to have this done by NNL East and I can't wait to see it completed.

I agree with you on the posers...there will always be some posers. Similar to when Pro Street was the rage....lot of posers. Thanks for the kind words, saw your latest updates....nice....but what I think you need to do is move down here to Florida so you can get busy slinging some paint
