Painted bumpers for 57 bel air?

Has anyone ever tried to paint 57 bel air chrome? I got a amt kit that looks like the chrome has been yellowed horribly. I don't wanna use alclad. I'm thinking of just doing a customer pain job on the bumpers , and grill. If anyone has pictures of the real thing or kit , it would be nice to ref from
