carcrazy19 Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) I have a quick question. I just got back into the hobby and I remember back then resin bodies were popular as they still are today. So why is it that people like to build them versus a regular kit? Edited June 13, 2014 by carcrazy19
Harry P. Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Because in many cases the cars that are represented by the resin bodies are not available as "regular" kits.
Ramfins59 Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Usually resin kits and/or bodies are made by cottage industry people to represent cars that were never made in plastic kit form. Some companies, like Modelhaus, make replacement parts for older kits and/or promotional models, and also complete resin kits reproductions of plastic kits that were made back in the late 50's and 60's that are no longer available, or, if they are, they are unaffordably priced for the average modeler.
Craig Irwin Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Subject matter, You'd be a fool to buy a resin kit if you could buy the same thing in plastic.
