russosborne Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Does it matter which I paint first? Using craft paint and testors enamel on a steering wheel. Masking isn't going to happen. I'd prefer to just use the craft paint, but I don't have any silver and right now isn't a good time to be spending any money on a hobby. I wouldn't think it matters with those two, but better safe than sorry. Thanks, Russ
jwrass Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Russ, If the craft paint is water based (which I assume it is) paint the enamel first and follow with the water based. That way if you make a boo boo you can wipe the water based off of the enamel with no harm! The other way around not so much. jwrass
russosborne Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 Yes it is. Hadn't thought of that. Thanks! Russ
Speedfreak Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I'd paint the enamel first as well and let it dry well, (couple of days) and then try the acrylic.
