Satch Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 First post here, thought I'd share an ongoing build I'm working on. The final design and paint is still open, so suggestions are welcome. Here's the AMT kit, I'm using the custom front and rear pieces. Didn't like the rectangular opening of the gril, so I added some stripes and puttied them in. Also changed the hodd design by rounding the corners.
fitforbattle Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Looks like a hungry fish. I like it. Keep the updates coming!
slusher Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 One kit I have never built. Will be watching this one...
Satch Posted June 27, 2014 Author Posted June 27, 2014 (edited) Alright, the hungry fish got fed some putty. I'm having a little trouble with pictures..will have to work it out. Edited June 27, 2014 by Satch
Foxer Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I love the Victoria roof band more than any part on any '50 car. I think the "fishmouth" will improve greatly against the hood in place.
Satch Posted June 27, 2014 Author Posted June 27, 2014 (edited) http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/Old45/1956%20Ford%20Custom/DSCN4061_zpsdaf66c1b.jpg Added some putty to feed the hungry "fish". Need some ideas for agrill. I have some fin mesh screen to use behind a full width bumper. Edited June 28, 2014 by Satch
Satch Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 Here's some of the latest pics. Another shot of the front end, I'l be adding the headlight rims next. The back needs some more fine sanding, it's a little rough in the corners.
Satch Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) Made some progress. Did some final fitting of the hood (could be better) Added some side pipe shrouds and molded in the headlight rings. Had to remove the molded in exhaut system and the add some flat plastic and putty. Still needs a lot of tinkering, but it's coming along. Edited July 2, 2014 by Satch
