Old Buckaroo Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 (edited) 89AKurt - Nice launch, almost landed on the pad - how did you manage that ? I didn't see any relief holes in that parachute. I'm envious of your weather there. Edited December 19, 2024 by Old Buckaroo
Dave Ambrose Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 You're lucky you can just go out and launch. We can't do that around here due to the fire danger. We do have launches every couple of weeks on Mission Bay. Lots of fun. Need to get back out there again. 2
Falcon Ranchero Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Not a single clound in the sky anywhere at all; first brutally sunny day since before the snow came in late November. Mind you it's still -20 degrees celsius but hey, nothing but blue skies. Always a good day when the clouds are no where to be found
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 It's a good day to be alive, in spite of those who'd rather whine than be appreciative of their blessings. 4

JollySipper Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 My furry alarm clock............ He always gets in my face and mumbles and groans for me to get up and feed him. 1
John M. Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 It's 10 degrees out this morning and the property owner is on site to make sure the heating system in my building is working properly which it is. I do have my space heater and between both, I'm fine.
John M. Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 I've been going coo coo over hot cocoa all throughout this cold weekend in Beantown.
stavanzer Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Had my 30th Wedding anniversary today. We sat and watched movies, and talked about the last 30 years. It was quiet, just the 2 of us. 8

Congrats to you, man; I remember celebrating my Grandparents' 60th, in 2020, amidst the Covid pandemic. Put a homemande 60th Anniversary sign in the window and it was just me, my Grandparents and my mom. That was a good day May 14th. 2
Falcon Ranchero Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 What pleased me was yesterday I found out WIP means Work In Progress. Been on the forum for 6 months never knew what WIP stood for until yesterday I had a random thought about that. 1
John M. Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 I've been binge watching "Counting Cars" from the History Channel on YouTube since yesterday. Also, this month marks the start of year six since I pulled the cable plug. 1
A modeler named mike Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Getting to go to my in-laws for their annual Christmas eve gathering tonight. Food, games, exchanging of gifts and lots of old funny family stories thats been told relentlessly year after year. Unfortunately while caring for my Dad the last two years I wasn't able to attend either of the parties. Since Dad had passed earlier this year I can now resume attending all family functions again. He will be greatly missed but not forgotten. 3 1

RSchnell Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Every Christmas Eve Cocoa Beach holds the Surfing Santa deal. Even though it was cloudy and cool I walked down there to check it out. Not having to worry about parking, etc sure made it easy. Not my pics but ones to give you an idea of the size of the shindig. I don't do large crowds(unless it's a model or 1:1 show/swap) so I didn't stick around long. A burger & a beer at a local dive on the walk back home was the part that pleased me the most. 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Finally dragged my sorry backside to the woods for a 2-hour hike, and man, do I feel better now. Gloomy misty coldish day, but great for a wintry hike. Saw a bunch of deer in their winter camo, and a holly tree with 3 different kinds of leaves all on the same plant. Stopped by HobbyTown on the way home and picked up a few things too. Fixin' to have a grilled ham and blue cheese sandwich, watch an old movie, and sip some 12-year old rye. Some days don't suck at all. 6
RSchnell Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 It's kinda exciting to see your paintwork on the launchpad. I'm sure there's not many people that can say they've painted everything from Brass era cars to rockets. LOL 6

Ace-Garageguy Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Shaping up to be clear and mid-60s this PM, so maybe I can get another hike in a little later. 1
Rob Hall Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Yesterday was unseasonably mild for late December in NE Ohio..was sunny and 59 at one point. 57 and rain today. January supposed to arrive w/ more typical seasonable cold and snow.
