Stylo Mk2.

So as some of you may remember, a while back I made a Camaro based of the Gorillaz music video, Stylo.

Well, having a bout of inspiration, I decided to tackle my first "big build". I've never finished a big scale before, even though I have the Shelby GT500 from revell and the Tamiya 240Z in the stockpile. I'll finish them eventually! But for now - the 1/12 Foose Camaro, done in the Style of Stylo. Here's what I've done so far..

Grille badges, broken headlight, damaged front bumper:

Z/28 badges removed - Stylo is an SS, not a Z/28. Unfortunately there's no SS decals for this model, I've have to see what I can do...

Engine bay is (mostly) finished...

Chrome trim made for the vinyl roof, which I didn't do on the small scale.. Didn't have the supplies!

Now for the comparisons...

The size is quite daunting.

Mirror...

The custom gearstick, with the "boost" button...

Broken glass...

One thing that has really, really annoyed me about this kit is the tyres. They're all out of shape. What can I do?

Put them in hot water, should make them round. or you can find a stiff tube and put it inside the tires to make them round, but make sure the rim still fits.

Or just go Pro/Street. The tires from a Muscle Machines diecast 1/18 car are just right for 1/12. Nice and fat.

Thanks for this, I'll try the water technique. Do i need to shape it in the water at all or...?

And I won't be going prostreet hahah, want it to be as true to the original as I can..

So this is mostly done, I need to get the whole body in primer so I can get it painted...

I tried the techniques on the tyres to get them round again but no dice. Is there anywhere I can get a replacement set?

No, if you want to you can put a 1/4 inch diameter tube in the tires, that should fit right in the tires, and leave room for the rims.
