The dying embers of a night
(A fire that slowly fades 'till dawn)
Still glow upon the wall so bright (turning, turning)

Too easy . Turn to Stone By Electric Light Orchestra . From their double album Out of the Blue. ( My favorite album ! )

Here's one for the lounge crowd:

She don't like flyin', but I'm glad I'm alive

I crave affection, baby, but not when I drive!

(Title and artist on this one.) Hint: Singer passed away recently. Video of the song has a '66 Imperial convertible.

Buddy Greco - The Lady Is a Tramp

(Been over a year, so... And I was wondering if I'd killed the thread!)

Hey guy's . I just "stumbled into this thread a few day's ago and dont know if there are any rule's .

Like : get the answer right and then you can post a song of your own ?

( I wasnt sure what I was suppose to do ... ) Plus , this thread is over 275 page's long. So I'm not going through each page to see if a song has been / will be duplicated.

So here's my contribution.... ( let the "chip's" fall where they may ...)

The Sun don't shine

The Moon don't move the tide's

to wash me clean

Why so unforgiving, and why so cold

Been a long time crossing      .........................

A cold wind blow's

The God's look down in anger on this poor child ...

No taker's ?

How about a hint or two...

The year : 1974 . This was the band's second album. Only three band member's.

Early printings of the original album cover had the front image upside-down and were more greenish in colour.

There kinda like Jimmy Hendrix.... but not.

I saw when you walked by
The lovelight in your eye
And I knew I must try
To win you more than just a friend,
I'm starting near the end,
And I go again.

I can picture it. It's from the 60s.

Be The One?

Something like that.

Can't think of the band name.

You just may......... be close. They had a tv show

The hint did it.

The Monkees - You Just May Be The One.

It's a pretty obscure song (except maybe to Monkees fans) but I think one of their best penned by Mike Nesmith!

I grew around 60s and 70s pop & rock, so probably got a little more exposure to this stuff that others. The Monkess always fascinated me even though I was never a huge fan. Fabricated for tv, became real, had Jimi Hendrix open for them, etc. Pretty neat story.

So this means I have to come up with some lyrcis now right?

Okay, putting the thinking cap on...

I was a big fan at the time--watched the show, bought the model, had the first two, maybe three of their albums. But then I was 12, so don't hold that against me.

Some of their music actually holds up today. Nesmith was actually a competent, respected musician, and some of their songs were written by names you'd recognize, such as Neil Diamond.

I was back in the arm's of my baby

I was safe in the arm's of a dream

I was tasting the charm's of my lady
