Hello Pim! The "problem" whit this truck is that they come equiped with and IFS estyle suspension, so if you want to lift it you'll need to drop the front dif center, the lower front susp "A" armrs, extend the front spindless and so on, you better take a look to any GM front susp lift kit in 1:1 to see what do you'll need. You can make a body lift but it depends on waht you really want.

Thanks Jose I am thinking of two ways to deal with the front suspension:

1. Replace the irs with leaf springs which is not uncommon.

2. Fully scratch build suspension but I don't think my skills will allow it

The solid axle front end is another way, an even you can make it whit 4 bars and coilovers. And for scratch buil the lift kit is why I tell you abouth the 1:1 lift kit, like this:

I have being looking on some full size Chevy forums and seen what they have done and I have decided not I am going with a .live axle conversion thanks heaps Jose for your opinions and reference pictures and look forward to your project.

The next few things I have to do is learn how to do leaf springs and find some nice detailed diff's fr the front and back
