RatRod Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Here's my latest, and first build of '08!! I'll try to keep the chatter to a minimum......I went on a manic mission about 7-8 years ago to get every Revell 1/8 scale Triumph bike & trike made, and yes I did it!!! Of course I did what I said, and many extras too, along with many other Revell kits from that era. So now I have all these kits, but have never tried to build one, so it was time.....One big problem on these kits is the chrome, The chrome has vanished on almost every kit I have made in 1964-1969. I wanted to just build one, and find out how they went together, so I could take notes, and get a kit ready to re-plate, and do a nice custom box art build. Here is what I came up with, I did change a few things on this one, but it turned out ok, and now I know why most of these were either never built, or never finished....lol.
RatRod Posted January 20, 2008 Author Posted January 20, 2008 Here's a couple close up's ot the tail light I scratch built....Kinda "Flash Gordon" style!!!
Raul_Perez Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 That is just way too cool, John!! I remember those old kits and how hard they were to build. All yours needs now is a "Major Pain" decal and some major's bars for the tank! Great work, as usual!! I can't wait to see the next ones with replated chrome!!
old-hermit Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 (edited) Good job RatRod, that 1/9 Harley seat look's like it was made for it. I've built several of these kits and they are definately a pain in the butt. Here's a couple I did several years ago. Edited January 21, 2008 by old-hermit
Modelcarjedi Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 that is sweet!!!! it would look very cool with a white star on the tank ) keith
