I've recently rediscovered Manic Street Preachers. UK band, came out in the early 90s.

Crazy story with the disappearance of their guitarist/lyricist, Richey Edwards, in 94.

This album (see image) doesn't necessarily qualify as obscure album when one considers it was a million sales release. However, this particular mix -- MONO -- is largely ignored in favour of the (inferior) stereo mix.

This track, Daily/Nightly, is one of the earliest uses of the then-new Moog synthesiser; Star Collector is the other Moog-laced track.

In my shared opinion, the mono mix beats the stereo edit, and this is one of the finest examples -- that Moog just comes to life in mono!

Enjoy!

They Might Be Giants - Don't Let's Start EP. I remember buying this EP on vinyl back when it came out because it had a song about the Replacements on it.

Innocence Mission - Glow. This band is from Lancaster PA. My friend who was a drummer in another band met them in some studio right before they were about to take off and was hyping them up to us. They didn't seem to get as big as we all thought they would. Good band just the same.
