heptoman Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Hey everyone, here with another Lambo. I did this version WAY back when I was 9 or so. Really awful. Apparently I didn't know masking tape existed back then. This model has also been in storage for over 20 years. Interior.
heptoman Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 Okay, so I thought about doing a restoration but I decided against it. I also wanted to have the full "joy" of rebuilding the thing and marvelling about how much I didn't understand back then. So I bought a whole new one and unfortunately I didn't take any pics of the process. But once she was done I was pretty pleased with it. Until I finished the Ducati. (Here). And was REALLY pleased with that, and compared to the Lambo, I still hadn't figured out paint yet. So I decided to strip it and redo it. So here I am in the process: Interior and engine: I thought I had more shots of the exterior "stripped" but I don't. I'll have to do that later. Too many pots on the stove!
6ohMax Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) Any updates on this. I just purchased this Tamiya kit off EBay all unopened too. I remember my Aunts husband built this kit for me when I was a kid....I think I played lets play monster truck with it and smashed it ....oh well I was a kid then Edited February 11, 2015 by 6ohMax
Zarana-X Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I've built 3 of these over the years. One was my first Tamiya kit when I was a teenager. Its a fine kit, for a curbside. everything is well detailed, and fits together flawlessly. The most recent one has the boxart with no driver, but it still comes with him, but the decals in the new kit were defective. They were super thick and wouldn't seperate from the backing sheet . Never seen that before, and certainly wouldn't expect that from Tamiya,
