OK, so here it is.

You know the trouble I've been having with the paint on the Pete, and I should have listened to Cornpatch and threw it in some cleaner but.........I thought, well, noone will notice the little paint wrinkles

So I continued on building, now keep in mind that this model needs a lot of trimming (apparently someone needs to retool their dies), so I am taking my time(by my standards anyway), but it is real hard to scrape paint from some of the joints before gluing. The frames have been cut and the extensions put in. The rest of the frame is glued together and the engine is finished and mounted, its all looking rather masterful to me. Then I get to the rearend, I put the back one on first, then the middle one,no problem, but when attaching the last one, some of the tits have been removed or are out of shape and its just not sitting to good so when I put in the driveshaft, it all goes a little squirrley on me and the next thing I know, one of the frame rails falls off :o . Wow! I didn't think that would happen, so I reglued all of the crossbeams and while trying to get them all lined up the rear two axles come off, frame included. So now I'm thinkin, OK don't loose your cool, put the rest of the frame together and re-attach the back half of the frame after it dries. ;) I really want the frame to stay together, so I grab a BIG spring clamp and clamp it together, but theres so much pressure that the frame is pulled apart at the end so I move the clamp about a half an inch and BOOM!...... :o The whole things blows apart, pieces flying every which way, as I sit there with this look on my face  the engine comes down and lands in one of my hands in perfect condition. Whewwww. The rest of the frame and all of the little pieces (none damaged) are all now soaking in a hotub full of oven cleaner and I'm kicked back watchin Bob Ross teach me how to paint LOL Happy Birthday to me! I promise to listen next time

Guess I should glue it up first, then paint, I have always done it the other way around, but I guess that don't make it right :P

This will be one nice kit when I am finished, even if I half to build three or four times LOL

I bet if we all had a nickle for everytime a model bomb went off we'd be millionaires right?? I know thats happened to me a time or two. I was working on the dodge L-700 kit and the family cat didnt feel the truck was worthy so she knocked the poor thing off the bench and it exploded. Off to the junkyard for now poor truck! I was quite angry at the cat!!

Sorry for your misfortune, I bet after the cleaning it'll be a great looking truck! Happy modeling!
