Master Builder Challange

I am constantly in awe at the skills shown on these forums. Paint, detail, and creativity are exceptional. Therefore I issue the following challenge.

Build and show an Edsel.

Don't know if plastic or resin kits or die cast are available. If not, modify some other Fords or scratch build.

No rules. Custom, low rider, funny car, pro street, or whatever. Just post ideas, concepts, and progress please.

Any takers?

i would love an Edsel buildoff, but, i never finnish anything faster than a year or so

Amt has a -58 Edsel kit btw.

I've got plenty of Edsels...one of my all time favorite cars...I want a real one!!!

I've got a mild custom 58 on the workbench right now, and I've also got 58-60 wagons from R&R Vacuum Craft and an untouched, mint 60 that I bought...

could have the Custom done soon...

AMT/Ertl 1/25 Edsel Pacer. Used Model Car Garage PE set for the grill and badges and a Parts by Parks distributor on the engine. Turquoise paint is a custom mix of Polly Scale GN Big Sky Blue and PS Dark Green with PS Reefer White top.

I didn't much like the wide white sidewalls that came with the kit as I feel they are undersized. I replaced them, unfortunately the best set I could find were a tad over-sized, but watcha gonna do?

In all it took me about four years off and on to finish the model. The Ertl kit is quite good and was well worth waiting for all those years! Greatly helping the process along was the fact that there's a ton of great research material on the Edsel available for free on the web, and it was almost as much fun to learn about these cars as it was to build the model!

I look forward to seeing more Edsel builds here!
