Can some one tell me why I can no longer post pictures directly from my fotki and photobucket sites? I notice some people still are. But the only way lately I have been able to post is by downloading directly from my computer. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I was just notified by Photobucket that I was exceeding my allocated "bandwitdh" which is the Juice required to post and view the photos. I had to upgrade it for some cash, of course. I still had a lot of storage room apparently, but if your site is busy you need more bandwidth.

No that's not the problem. This website will not let me paste the image file into my message. I click to paste it and nothing happens. It used to work just fine. I haven't exceeded my bandwidth with photobucket and you don't have that problem with fotki anyway.

Just testing Fotki for Mark. I did what I always do for Fotki. Click "share" and select the first option, "Image URL for use on other sites". Hope you get this figured out. It is frustrating when things don't work like they are supposed to.

I was just having major problems with this Yesterday. I couldn't get CTRL-V to work all of a sudden. Then later on in the day, it was working again.

It just wouldn't let me copy to my message. Not sure if I had a setting messed up or what. Maybe something on the site hiccuped for a couple of hours.

I tried your way NachoZ and it did not work either. I was hoping a moderator could answer my question. Maybe its because I had to switch to windows 8 a couple of months ago. But I have no problem linking pictures from fotki and photobucket to any of the other model sites.

If you're using Internet Explorer, now would be a good time to go to Firefox or Chrome. Not only are they vastly superior browsers there have been noted problems with IE and photos on this site.

That's funny, because I switched from IE to Chrome well over a year ago for that very reason. (To post pictures of the '50 Olds and '57 Ford when they were released, IIRC) and when this happened, I tried both Chrome and IE on two different computers. After trying to make a post for well over an hour, I gave up. The next Mornng, I jumped on and made a perfect post using Internet Explorer. (The one that I ditched because it would never post pictures here) but Chrome took four or five tries before it worked. Like I said in my apology edit of the post I was trying to put a picture in, "Somebody must have moved a couple of electrons since I last posted here!"

Now, Chrome seems to be perfectly happy and compatible again. IE doesn't want to play well with the board again. I just don't get it... I may have to add a line about internet browsers to my (in) famous slot car racing axiom, "There are three things men were never meant to understand; Women, cats and T-Jets."

Guess I will just have to keep posting thumbnails and hope you guys click on them to see the bigger versions. Bummer. :(

If you're using IE. all you should need to do is add this site to "compatibility view" in your tools menu. I was having the same problem and it worked for me.

I don't get any of this. The code we all use to post photos is something like 20 years or more old. You'd think all these forum coders would have learned how to code this use by now. And web browser coders would have learned how rt do it correctly also. To me it's one of the oldest and simplest things on the web. Why doesn't this work for everyone all the time.

Ole of those Mysteries of Life ...

That's what I did...no problems since ;)

Steve, if you could give me a step by step on how to get to the "compatibility view" maybe I can fix this. This windows 8 makes everything very hard to work. The old windows xp I had was much more user friendly. Microsoft decided to stop supporting it so I was forced to buy a new computer with 8 on it.

open your IE browser to the Forum Home page, then:

Internet Explorer > Menu Bar > Tools

click Tools and you'll get a pulldown menu

from the pulldown menu select Compatibility View settings

(it's about halfway down)

there will be a pop-up box

click the button ADD

and then Close

your screen will flicker - don't freak out

i always sealed the deal by refreshing the screen with the f5 key but it may not have been necessary; did make me feel better for some reason.

after all that, try using Google Chrome. the first week will seem awkward, second easier, and by the third week you won't know how you got along without it.

videos play more better (yes, i said that), it searches faster and helps you in ways you never thought possible.

i believe, and still can't believe it. time to move into the '90s, man.

I had to take Win8 with a new laptop I got my Mom (93 years old) and also one I got. Neither of us use our computers like a phone, so the Start was pretty dumb to use. I found Classic Shell which is a free program to make Win8 start just like it always had at the desktop. You can even make it look like XP if you choose! It has worked without fail for almost a year for me now. Anyone using Win8 should get this I'd say.

Good to see you're posting pics now, Mark .. and what a great photo that is! It looks like two shots .. body and chassis .. with some transparency on the body .. the registration is perfect! How did you do this? :)

First thanks Joe for the fix and that picture is just one I borrowed from the internet to help on my next project.
