  1. Love the build, and love the dedication to details. Out of simple curiosity, what are your plans on the AMT 67 kit?
  2. Got some exhaust manifolds for it today running single exhaust on this one.also anybody know good pinstripers?
  3. Thanks. For the advice Jantrix, and thanks for the welcome Dan
  4. My dad hates chevy's in a ford. The only model I have built with a ford engine in mind is the 36 ford I am doing now and its for him. I think like this in models and in 1:1 the car is how I will build it and I'm most likeley gonna have to fix the thing so I might as well go for the easiest (to find) and cheapest (to fix). I can get the guys who are for all originality, I honestly respect that, but my 1:1 1949 International Harvester pickup truck will have a s10 frame and chevy drivetrain simply built, cheap, and i wont have to drop it super low now either.
  5. Thanks, I'm sure i will. I'm building this for my dad as a thanks for teaching me car stuff as a kid and building models with me. It was something I really enjoyed and smile about when I think back. The Specs: The model kit is the AMT 1936 Ford Convertible 1/25 Scale What I have done to the original model was chop off the fenders, cut off the grill on the body and removed the body parts in between it and the body. I'm working on a way to do simulated rust along the bottom of the body. I am a rat rod guy so most of the things I build will rely on that skill. Paint specs: Anything silver on the model was done in testors 2734 Silver Argent the roof (painted what looks like desert tan) was already painted and so was the body (looks like a rattle can flat black). the engine is a 1/25 427 cobra engine. I need a wiring kit and headers for it. I also need some tail lights.
  6. thanks guys for the warm welcome. I hope to learn alot from yall. I heard some of the best build here.
  7. Hey guys I. Just. Joined and I want to show the progress I have on a junkyard model kit.
  8. Hey everybody I'm new here. I have been fooling around with my old model car kits i had in storage (Way cheaper than the 1/1 scale). I just recently graduated from a tech school in the automotive feild. I have a couple models in progress (1963 corvette gasser and a 1936 ford convertable ratrod are the ones in progress) and a few more that are finished. I mostly work on 1/24 and 1/25 scale. I recently got on ebay and started to buy junkyard lots so i can build whatever I want.
