Sixties Sam
Harry's kit reminds me of the old rubber powered free flight model airplanes I built many years ago. They had all the wing ribs, bulkheads, tail surface parts, etc. printed on a sheet of balsa and you had to cut them out with a hobby knife. You got a bundle of sticks to make all the fuselage stringers, wing spars, etc. then had to assemble them carefully. Brushing on dope and applying tissue covering was a PITA, too, and they often didn't fly very well. Plastic model cars were so much easier and more satisfying to me back then. f1ford48
BEAUTIFUL work on the Mercer- if the 2 were real the Mercer would be noticibly smaller.

As a point of reference, the wheelbase of the two kits in the photo is identical. Anyone have the 1:1 wheelbases?
