Guest Davkin
I haven't seen this mentioned as a use as mockup glue even in threads about mockup glue so I figured I'd share it. Holding parts together has always been a struggle for me but I think I finally found something that is near perfect for this task.....Pacer Formula 560 Canopy glue. This glue is a type of white glue but is much better. It sets relatively fast, (just a couple minutes), holds stronger than regular white glue and comes off styrene very easily. I also use it for permanent assembly of chrome and clear parts as well. Also, if you are into diorama modeling it's a great wood glue. The only way this stuff could be better as mockup glue is if it set as fast as CA. David
mr moto
Thanks for a really good tip. This sounds like something I could use. I'll have to look for some!
Olle F
Sounds like a good idea! Now, how do you take it all apart and clean it up? Can you just pop it apart and scrape the glue off, do you have to soak everything in water, or how do you do it?
Guest Davkin
It scrapes off easily, in fact it stays kind of flexible almost like rubber cement and pulls off. In some cases with delicate assemblies you might want to go the soaking in water route to avoid breaking things while pulling them apart, it will dissolve in water. Olle F
Cool, have to try that! It seems like I always have to carv some on my finished parts when I do the final assembly, so this can hopefully be a way to avoid that.
