High octane Posted September 17, 2014 Share Posted September 17, 2014 I pull the tape through the slot in the hardware and fold it over. I then stick it on a piece of wax paper and brush paint the tape(topside) the color I want my belt. After it dries, I stick the belt and hardware on the seat and put a SMALL dot of epoxy glue underneath the hardware and also on the end of the belt which usually can't be seen. Guest Posted September 19, 2014 Share Posted September 19, 2014 I fold the tape over onto itself and cut it to width. It gives it a little more scale thickness and I can position it however I want. To add the hardware, I slip it through, fold it and glue with crazy glue. I paint it with whatever I want or have. These were painted with acrylic flat black. I can post some pics of the harneaa I did for my Army Vega Funny Car if you would like. John - I've tried Sharpie and, though I like the idea of it, it seemed to rub off if handled very much. Maybe that speaks more to my assembly techniques than to the marker itself.
