  1. This kit was offered as one of the Enthusiast Series and has a ton of detail. I have one of the full detail kits in my Fotki albums that I built a few years ago. Yours looks great so far. BTW, if this is the first one you have built, be careful when you put the chassis into the body. The fuel tanks barely fit inside and are easy to break off during installation.
  2. Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments. Randx, you can get the PE battery cable ends from model car garage. The fret comes with top and side post ends.
  3. This is the Revell 69 Camaro RS/SS kit. I also added a MCG PE detail set, various other PE details and plumbing/wiring. The kit come with a great set of decals so there was no need to shop the after market for those. The color is MM Lacquer Huggar Orange with Classic White interior. I really enjoy the engine bay portion of the build and I hope it shows. I added lots of wiring and plumbing there. The under carriage of the car is mostly detail painted. I did change the headers in the kit for a set of stock manifolds and that required the exhaust to be modified. The interior was detailed using the PE set and decals from the kit for gauges.
  4. My stuff is nowhere close to the the level of the guys Gregg mentioned but, I do have a build-up here. I also have a few pics of some drag cars here. I'm not sure if this will help but, you are more than welcome to check it out.
  5. That's a beautiful build. I notice you use T/A tires on a lot of your builds. Could you tell me where you get them?
  6. My name is Robert Hughes, I'm 40 years old and I live in Augusta, GA with my Wife of 22 years and my younger son(14). I have an older son that lives in Hawaii with his wife and MY new grand daughter! I don't post much to forums but, I spend a lot of time reading them(especially Billy's post to this thread! ). I started building models when I was about 9 years old. I remember walking the road sides looking for redeemable bottles for money to buy the next kit. Anyway I built most of my childhood and stopped a couple years after I got married. At that time I packed away everything that I had with the hopes of returning someday. Someday ended up being around mid-2003. I found a couple modeling forums on the net and decided to join in on the fun. The first model I build was a 55 Cameo truck, which I still have on my desk. Doesn't look great but, it was fun! That was my first attempt at foil and it turned out OK. The next kit was a Revell 67 Charger. This time I added flocking and a few wires and hoses. It turned out to look pretty decent and I was totally HOOKED! Then it was time to pull out one of the old models I had retired years before. This would be one of the Fujimi Enthusiast Dino kits that were rereleased by Testors. This time I polished paint and tried a few other things. It was a bit of a challenge but, I managed to finish it. By this time I had met a few guys from modeling forums and made some cool friends at the same time. One of the guys mentioned a show that was in his area which was the Cincinnati Challenge. I'm thinking ROADTRIP, my wife says, "you want to drive 9 hours to Ohio to look at models?" Reacting quickly, I say, "I figured Joey(my younger son) and I would take a trip together and give you time to yourself. Worked like a charm! When we got there I couldn't believe that this many people were so serious about building models. My stuff wasn't near as nice as the tables of cars I saw that day. I took two cars, the Charger and the Dino I built. I talked to a lot of great guys and that hooked me for life. I haven't been able to get back up there but, I do attend the NNL South show every year. I look forward to meeting more great folks from here.
  7. Thanks The decals are from the kit. They are a really nice set. Maybe some of the best I've ever seen packed with a Revell kit.
  8. Nice job so far! That engine is really nice.
  9. The body was painted with MM lacquer Huggar Orange, then polished and decals from the kit applied.
  10. Thanks guys Lyle, the houndstooth inserts are decals from the kit.
  11. Thanks, I'm very fond of the 69 Camaro too. I had this much done when I made my initial post, just didn't want to post a ton of pics at one time. This is the way it sits now though. I will post more when I get further along.
  12. This post will show where I'm at now with this build. The interior was done in white houndstooth and more PE pieces from the MCG set. I also used flocking for the carpeted area and a bit of BMF.
  13. After a little clean up on the engine, I started the chassis. The chassis was painted and engine installed. The the exhaust pipes were modified to work with the manifolds that I used. Then I installed the radiator support with radiator and shroud. Battery cables with PE terminals and a battery hold down were added. This pretty much completes the chassis assembly.
  14. This is the Revell 69 Camaro Convertible kit. I also used the MCG PE set for this car, along with other various bits. I started with the engine. I drilled the distributor and added plug wires. Then I added the dip stick, fuel line and a few other hoses. The headers that come with the kit were scrapped and a set of manifolds from another kit were used instead.

Excellent! That is one of the best weathering jobs that I've seen. You make rust look great!
