vaughn
This has been in the shop for awhile now. Had paint compatibility problems, fitting issues and some other minor problems. But after firing my painter and finding another body man, I finally finished. Did some BMF on the window trim and hood vents and stepping boards. The paint is Testors Metalic Black and 50s Aqua. V8 motor with mostly chrome. Flat green interior with tan door panels. Simulated wooden bed and cattle rack. O Yea...and a surf board. Surfs Up. Jon Cole
Nice '38 (Yep! It's a '38) Ford you got there! That kit is a '37, but you used the '38 grill included. Looks good, and a nice color combo!

vaughn
Actually, it's a '37 with a '38 hood and front end. The '38's cab was substantially different from the '37's. Whatever you wanna call it, it looks GREAT me! I really like how the red wheels set off the black and the green! Thanks man. I forgot to mention the frontend suspension also was '38. I'm a landscaper.arararara !! Thanks again.

Jim Gibbons
Thanks Jim...Would like to see some of your Airplane models....where do I go ? Sorry, don't have more than a couple of pics of aircraft right now, other than this P-38J; I'd like to join in Jarius' racing plane challenge, but don't have the kits to do it. Here's the plane, but I feel guilty about posting it, as your model is the spotlight here!

Me and my Dad use to do aircrafts and we hung them by wire in our closed in porch. They were everywhere. Wish I knew where they were now. Thought about doing one myself again and just might. Anyway.....I will check out your Foki site. Seeya and thanks for showing.

vaughn
thanks for all the comments...... the answer to how I did the wood ? Well, You take one year saplings. Strip them and let them dry for about a month in a controled enviornment. lay them out on a piece of hardboard and cut them to your near size. Once done, you can use them as a decal sorta with some trimming but a little wood stain before hand is a good idea. They are very thin and will break and tear...but its wood. Other than that .....Its a decal. Thanks

Thanks Considering how good the wood looked, especially on the surfboard, I (and I'm sure a lot of the folks here) would like it if you did a tutorial on it sometime. You're thinking outside the model box, and the results show!
