LVZ2881
curious what everyone uses, and where to get it...
The Creative Explorer
Recently discoveres silk ribbons, once painted in the right colour, structure looks pretty good. Ribbons can be very easy made to scale by using a papercutter, with a round knive blade, not the slicer. ( I honestly don't know the name, sorry 'bout that. )
ismaelg
I have used masking tape as well as other materials, but now I use 3M surgical tape. I got an almost empty roll from a Doctor at the E.R. It handles like regular masking tape but it has a nice slight texture to it. Thanks,
CAL
curious what everyone uses, and where to get it... Ribbon from a fabric store. Couple ft of black couple ft of red. Should be a lifetime supply.
Raul_Perez
I use the 1/8" wide ribbon. I bought white, black and red at the local craft store. I paint the white ribbon with a mixture of paint, white glue and water if I need a different color. 1) I stretch about 12 inches of ribbon out tight on a piece of glass and tape the ends in place; 2) mix and apply the paint/glue/water mixture, applying enough material so that it soaks completely into the ribbon; 3) once dry, I use a straight edge ruler and a new EXACTO blade to cut the ribbon to the width I need.
