djway3474
Well this has been an 8 year journey. I purchased this partially built car a long time ago and dug right in. I took me a while to find all the parts and find good referance pictures (thank Brian). I did not like the look of the stock wheel tire combo so I hit the parts box and pulled out some old Pegasus wheels. I normally don't like tri blades but the looked good here and I installed them in a counter rotating fashion. Paint is a base silver with Tamiya clear red over that then covered by Urethane clear. I added plug wires and a shaft to the blower fans. I was going to put the motor in the car but I found that you can't see it with the rear in an open position so I placed it in the motor display case that comes with the car. The seat are supposed to raise up when you oppen the rear bonnette but the double hinge won't let it totally close so I disconnected that. I had to cut the interior tub in two sections so I could assemble the body before painting and all would register correctly afterwards. link to build http://public.fotki.com/djway3474/model-ca...-1-concept-car/ Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
ismaelg
WOW! That is WAY cool! One of my old grails of all time, and I think it is the first time I see one finished. Looks GREAT! Thanks,
robertw
Great job on a model that seems to rarely be built. RobW
84vanagon
TOO COOL! One of my grails too. We can only hope that the New AMT finds the dies to this one again!
