Ramfins59
I just got a very disturbing and sad email from a fellow LIARS Club member, that the upcoming MassCar Show on March 15, 2015 will be their LAST SHOW...!!!!!! They state that they have no plans to host any further shows after this one. They want to get back to basics in their club without the hassles and responsibilities involved with running a show. I have so many fabulous memories of good times while attending the MassCar club's show on a yearly basis before I moved to western PA. This show will truly be missed by many modelers. southpier
the announcer was going on and on about the show for next year. i believe he said it would be March 20, 2016 - but don't write that down in pen. the vendors will be the same, the location will be the same (i hope they turn on the ventilation fans- i came out smelling like homefries from the adjacent Holiday Inn restaurant), it's just the Masscar guys won't have judging & trophies. but might have model display tables. sounds like a big car kit flea market. i didn't see and great deals, some okay deals, and some priced 50% above internet shops. so i guess it pays off to be familiar with what you want. there were a lot of old boxes with high prices, AMT 1960 Ford pickup for $275. i guess it would be a complete unbuilt A grade kit for that? and a lot of Styline kits for around $100 - $125. a bunch of nicely built models, too. some real talented modelers. and some younger folks that i hope are developing a lifelong hobby. i don't take pictures; sorry to disappoint. Jon Cole
Joe- thanks! This was hyped as the last Masscar, and technically, I guess it is. I like the idea of switching to a non judgmental show next year. The prices don't surprise me. They are always in that price range. Supply and demand. It's been a while since I attended. Foxer
I really like that it's going to a NNL type show. One reason I didn't go to enter anything was because I don't do contests anymore. Should be a bigger draw for me next year. Anyone have any photos from the show????????????????????????????????
