shafer
In 1958 richard petty ran his 5th race of his career just a couple of miles from where i live at the wilson county fairgrounds dirt track. he finished in 5th place. Many think he ran a blue 43 with red numbers but that was not until 1959- he used his dads extra car in 58 using the numbers 42, 2, 0r 142. I have to be some where in a few minutes but i wanted to show off my first christmas gift of the season , I finished it today it is a tribute to that car. Due to time restraints I have to post a link to the pictures, I will update them later. Thanks for understanding enjoy! Merry Christmas to All! http://pettymodelcars.webs.com/apps/photos/album?albumid=14326747
bbowser
That's very cool. Where did you find that Olds body?
rmvw guy
Nice tribute to a piece of racing history and not an easy car to build. I've always been a Petty fan but, did not know about this car. Thanks for sharing your album.
shafer
it was a christmas gift from my aunt - it was a johnny lightning #400 olds diecast- i basically sanded off the old #s and repainted parts of the car and the wheels. Thanks for the compliments
