Ti-Brook Aluminum Dump Bed..Update 2 Along w/ Peterbilt

Recommended Posts

Guys....

Had a chance to grab the digital camera...So here are some "teaser" photo's. A couple of small details to finish up..and hopefully shortly ready for primer. The final product will have a couple of coats of the Alclad, polished aluminum paint. Decals and safety striping will be added. Yes, that is real "oak" wood planks for the top boards...

Progress is slow on the Pete, since the last posting, she has gone under a major turn into a different direction..I'll post pictures soon.

Comments are always appreciated. Happy modeling to all.

Thank you to all for the positive feedback.

I am actually taking the day off from work tomorrow, and making a trip to Brookville, PA to visit Trail King/Ti-Brook's manfacturing facilty for a tour. Going to pickup decals, take lots of reference pictures, etc.

Wait to you see the (re-done) Pete..this thing is going to set on, 357 here we come!!

Taking the day off all because of a Truck Model? You lucky SOB! Now that is supporting the hobby! Have a good time Kurt

Guy's...

What a day, I had on Friday, second oldest son went with me. Took a full tour of the Trail King/Ti-Brook plant..saw lots of traliers and bodies in production and finished..visited the local Peterbilt dealer, saw a fully loaded 379 Legacy Class Edition with dump bed..got lots of reference photo's from both..and ended up at the local CAT dealer as well...

I thought I was done with my dump bed...Wrong...back to some minor modifications...and then primer.

Casey....Per your request

Here is a picture or two of the Peterbilt (357) I am trying to replicate w/Aluminum Dump Body. Originally I was going to drop in a Detroit series 60 diesel, I am going to drop in a CAT 3406E..modified to a earlier C-15.

It is coming along, slowly...stacks were just completed. Starting priming on a bunch of misc pieces. Any thoughts or suggestions from anyone is always welcomed.

Happy modeling to all.

Kurt,

This is going to be very impressive. Good choice for engine. A Cat Diesel Power decal on the side of the hood with the horses available would look cool. I notice that both Peterbilt and Kenworth seem to prefer Caterpillar engines. They must be good, they certainly sound good.

Good Luck with the rest of the build.
