HotRodaSaurus
Just wondering how accurate are the wheels, bodywork etc. It's 1/20th I think so not much in the way of detail parts available How best to get that two tone paint fade? Thanks, John
ZIL 111V
Former Japanese Gakken kit of the 60's, built that one in Entex box, many years ago, remember was not the best, art box on actual Minicraft box is pretty nice but the kit is something else when finished....Don't expect a 1/20 museum piece here! Body proportions are really, really bad, wheels are toy looking, tires look a bit oversized & beefy, engine/frame accuracy & details are pretty basic...former "motorized" car kit, interior is probably the best point of the kit with the clear bubble top (top design is not exact but) working features are the opening hood... better kept closed!!! doors & steerable font wheels. This kit demands a lot of work & patience to make it look right If you want a first generation Mako plastic model, choose AMT's excellent Promo/Snap curbside 1/25 kit, a simple perfectly design & much better looking kit
HotRodaSaurus
Thanks, I will look out for the AMT, at least it will be in scale with the other stuff I have John
robertw
I agree with Paul. The 1/20 scale one is just about as bad as it can get. The AMT one was also released as a promo although the colors are off. My only criticism would be the chassis attachment holes that go through the lower body. MCG also make a nice PE set for this kit so make sure you get one. This kit has had a couple of reissues since its original '98 release so shouldn't be too hard to find.
