Lownslow
this isnt for working tops so stop crying while youre ahead. youll need this stuff Brass screen 15 bucks and you get a lot tools youll need Sottering iron(optional but stronger than super glue) scissors super glue white glue marker tape ruler cardstock what you wanna do is make a pattern of the up top im starting with this making the 80s ratt vert up top theres 2 ways to make an uptop bucking one from a kit top or scratching one completely. i chose this time to scratch one i made a top from cardstock and cut my patterns from it. leave 2mm all around in case for trimming and 2mm on the sides so that you create the drape on the sides. i drew the folds and bent them around a ruler . then i moved to fitting it once it was all set i soldered the pieces together you can superglue them if you dont have the sottering iron this is where having the overlaps are important. once it was welded i moved to cutting the window out and putting the ribs on the top i did this by setting the top on a set of popsicle sticks with a small gap and used the ruler edge to create the rib. keep in mind the bottom piece on the rear glass on any convertible is below the be pillars. after it was done i coated the top in wet white glue after that its paint then flocking then soaking the flocking with really soggy glue water to matt down the flocking. or you can due the toliet tissue trick
charlie8575
Great idea. I might give this a try if I'm ever in need of an up-top for something. Charlie Larkin
