Semi Trailer Mechanic
What's goin' on... I stuck my foot in my mouth by telling the CEO of the trucking company I work for I'd build a model of one of his trucks. So here soon I'm gonna get started. The truck kit that'll be used is the Italeri FLD120 (Fireball). Having several Italeri kits including a couple of the mentioned kit I was wondering. Are there any pitfalls to this kit or for that matter any Italeri truck kit that a first time builder might run into? Thanks in advance for comments or recommendations! Guest Anthony Oteri
Scott, You ain't got nothing to worry about! I found the biggest pain on the FLD was lining up the side skirts with the cab and hood. It took a little bit of playing with to get it to allow the hood to tilt and still be in line with the cab. With out the skirts it's no different than any other Italeri kit, with them is a bit of a pain.
Old Albion
I haven't built anything from Italeri yet, but have plans to do so. All the comments I've read on this forum seem to be very positive. I will look forward to seeing how you get on with the project. Good Luck!!
chuckyr
Italeri kits are great! I have encountered only two issues with Italeri truck kits. Firstly unlike the old AMT, Ertl and Revell kits, the cabs need to be built up from panels. Care needs to be exercised at this step. This actually results in more accurate cabs, no warpage. The second is that Italeri doesn’t offer more North American truck subjects.

Guest Anthony Oteri
I know this has been said many times before, Italeri needs to re-issue the 378. The fit of the suspension and chassis along with the detail of them made this kit a pleasure to build. Maybe the thought will hit home on their part..... Old Albion
I found some 378 Pete's going for less than an Italeri 378. Quick lets rush out and buy one before they get snapped up!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...0123448313&
