Ideas For A Paint Scheme

Recommended Posts

I'm currently building an old 4070A and am in dire need of ideas for a paint scheme. Does anybody have any pics or can point me in the right direction on the net for a site that has color pics of old Internationals. My problem is I live in Germany and don't get to see the old trucks anymore. I've lived here for 30 years now and my memory ain't what it used to be. You guys were so helpful on my last problem (3408 Cat engine) that I came back here for more help. Thank again, Rod.

My gosh! You're so lucky to have obtained that kit! That's a rare & valuable kit!

By the way, nice job so far. Personally, I'd like to see it painted blue & orange, similar to Roadway transport trucks.

I got the kit on ebay awhile back for 75 bucks. Now they are going for 200. Someone had started to assemble it but it was easy to repair. Its an original casting from 1972. The best way to tell the year of the kit is to look at the license plates on the decal sheet. I shortened the frame and dumped the 318 Detroit for a Cummins in-line 6. Thanks for the paint idea but I want to go with something more along the line of O/O design.

I have a picture of a '77 IHC cabover that I owned at one time. If I could figure out how to put a picture in these topics I would send it to you. It's kind of pretty...silver and light purple. In fact it's the same colors that are on the Freightliner in my avitar picture but not the same scheme. Freightliner called it Plum Purple.
