Hi all, Could someone please tell me the model of engine is in the AMT GMC Astro?I am a truck mechanic but haven't worked on anything that old. :oops: Also anyone know where I could find some reference photos of this motor.Thanks

That engine is an 8V 92 series Detroit Diesel. (The old two stroke engine)
You can go to NAPA and get Alpine Green spray paint which is the equivallant color to what Detroit painted those engines back in the day.

Are you sure its an 8V92? I thought it was an 8V71.

The older kit is supposed to include a gas turbine engine as well.

That is a 1971 Detroit Diesel 8v71.

Tim's right, the engine is a detroit Diesel 8V 71 in the Astro. the 8V 92 was in the Gmc General/Chevy Bison as well as amt's Kenworth K100 Aerodyne cabovers.
