thnx !! and yes would be expensive to ship rims to holland but then again in a enveloppe ... the snap tite kit was not cheap ..

but i already have somebody in holalnd who might have some rims for me :)

and i even think i have some other ones i can use on a car i put away

i did not have the patience to waight if one day the yellow would clear , and yes its my fault to thick spray there (shame)
so i spotrepaired it , almost ruined it could not sand it it was to soft under the gard layer , i def need to leave painted body's longer in the future .. and i will do
so after this shot i sanded it and sanded the edge smooth and did clear again ..
if it will not work i will paint a nice copper design on the sides

did manage to ghet the black uderside on perfect , when the body is saved i will do the underside of that and inner wells as well

Richard you are right that primer left uncovered will absorb dirt over time. It will also scratch easily during the build process.  I found that if I wanted to use the primer as a final color,  I sealed it in with Testors Dullcote and that worked just fine.

I had used Duplicolor white primer on a police car and masked off the doors to paint the rest of the body gloss black.  Then I used Duplicolor clear over the white and it worked out fine.

Great looking build so far. I'm really digging the steelie wheels. What kit are they from?

in the end i think a higher force decided to ruin the cabine :) with a purpose .. it seems i missed something , above the grille and headlights the bodywork needs to run smooth and in my cab / kit it had some openings there ...

so i heated some kit sprue and welded it in the gaps

547665_283813571751560_1820315290_n.jpg

then flattened that

540153_283813561751561_2015974446_n.jpg

then put on some bondo thats now drying

also did some bonde on the edge of the front bumper and new fender edges so its smoother

painted the turn signals with clear orange , sadly i could not avoid to paint the inner edge , but i'm planning to do the edge inside and outside in chrome so then that will be covered up

555999_284041831728734_502584590_n.jpg

564744_284041851728732_1485552189_n.jpg

wanted to do the red of the rims in copper but in the chrome lip there was red shining through , not really obvious with the red centers because it looked like red reflection .. but it was actually red under the chrome shining true
so painting only the centers would result in red sticking out from under the chrome like a sore thumb :)
so painted them completly and i will look how this looks i can always paint the lip and hubcap chrome later

561397_284041888395395_1803419073_n.jpg

finished the dash cubbord (????) off with a round edge and pinstripe decal

555130_284041885062062_1275624549_n.jpg

after flattening and degreasing the body got a new coat of primer and well it was flawless and smooth .. i will sand it and do one slight coat again and then try the clear again so wish me luck
