The sprues and what's in the box. What's not shown is a Nissan Pathfinder pamphlet that also was in the box (thanks ScaleCentral :) )

The body. Unfortunately there's no detachable hood... But then again there's also no engine as well.

Paints I'll use for the body. I already masked off the area I'm going to paint before I posted this. I'm going to paint it two tone. Either Metallic Grey (XF-56) or German Grey (XF-63) on top and Dark Sea Grey (XF-54) or Neutral Grey (XF-53) on the bottom. But I'm not sure which at this point. I'll have to make some paint chips right now.

Coming in from a local Car Show.

Hey. A few months ago I visited a local car show on Main Street. Anticipating put up some pictures here (and for future reference), I took my camera. Here's what I came back with...:

American LaFrance 1000 Century build

20 May 2013 - 05:00 AM

I know there's been a few of these trucks built before on this site, and I guess I'll a shot at trying this truck as well. Well... Continuing to build anyways.

I started this truck a bit ago, at least in the beginning of the month, and I've made some progress. When I got the truck, the engine block (just the block, nothing else), the frame, the radiator and housing, and the tires were assembled and a few parts were already painted. So far this is how far I've come:

As of late last night, I attached the completed engine to the frame and earlier, the radiator/housing to the frame as well.

If anyone has suggestions, or a paint guide... I'd appreciate it.

'53 Hudson Hornet

15 May 2013 - 03:20 PM

Hey. Yes, I'm new. And I've been working on a Mobius Models 1953 Hudson Hornet for the past few months. I'm pretty much almost finished with it, all I need to do is some trim touch ups, order a new piece of suspension, and assemble the rest. Here's where it's been and where it is so far:

Well... When I started out (taking pictures that is) I had, basically, the entire body masked.

And the engine was yellow instead of what looked like it should have been bronze or another similar color:

The interior was OK. Had the customary blue and such (no, the white areas are NOT white paint, thats bare plastic):

Now all of the above I've redone (mostly) and this is what I have so far:

Of course, the engine has been completed with only minor incident... But I dont have a picture of it yet.

Everythings been painted so far.

I also painted the car interior (roof and supports) that lighter blue color. I had actually mixed it myself and I'm currently trying to get it reproduced so I can use it again.

So far this is mostly what I have done. I have more finished but I don't have pictures or I think that the post would get too long if I did post enough pictures...

So what does everyone think? Yes I'm working this model.

New joiner from Long Island, New York

Hey everyone. I'm Michael. I'm new to this forum, but not to model building. I've been building since I was, about... 4 years old, I believe. I'm 17 so it's been a few years.

I mostly build 1/48 aircraft (mostly this) and 1/24-1/25 cars. I do have one 1/12 Lamborghini Countach, though, that I recently acquired...

I am a Boy Scout, almost an Eagle Scout, and I play hockey year round and baseball in the summer.
