  1. I don't have the colors I needed in spray paint. So no I didn't spray it. Also, the top color isn't an actual color for sale; I had to mix it myself. Combination of Gunmetal, Silver, Gloss Black, and some grey.
  2. Thanks. And cool. If I was able to convert this into a '89 Truck SE V6, I'd do that but I can't.
  3. Well, I got this trade deal that still going on pending me shipping out my end of the deal, which will be in the next few days. The sprues and what's in the box. What's not shown is a Nissan Pathfinder pamphlet that also was in the box (thanks ScaleCentral ) The body. Unfortunately there's no detachable hood... But then again there's also no engine as well. The rest of the sprues. Paints I'll use for the body. I already masked off the area I'm going to paint before I posted this. I'm going to paint it two tone. Either Metallic Grey (XF-56) or German Grey (XF-63) on top and Dark Sea Grey (XF-54) or Neutral Grey (XF-53) on the bottom. But I'm not sure which at this point. I'll have to make some paint chips right now.
  4. Hey. A few months ago I visited a local car show on Main Street. Anticipating put up some pictures here (and for future reference), I took my camera. Here's what I came back with...: http://s1312.photobucket.com/user/michaelg951/library/Cars
  5. Finished cabin assembly and starting work on outside of cab. Touched up some paint too.
  6. Ok. I have a little update on the 1000. Recently (as of a few hours (wow... Time really does fly)) I have repainted the dash and panel above the dash semi-gloss black, I have cemented the wheels onto pegs on the frame, cemented panels of the wheel wells on to the underside of the body, painted some red onto little reflectors/tiny-lights/shiny-things-on-the-rear-running-boards with a tiny brush that measures under a millimeter in width, and I assembled the bell and air horn. I'd post pictures but my computer doesn't want to cooperate with me; the webpage (and only this webpage for some reason) keeps losing responsivity when uploading a picture.
  7. If more companies made more kits of more fire, law enforcement, and medical apparatuses, then maybe it would.... But I cant really speak on that because I haven't been here long and I'm not a model company.
  8. From my recent research from earlier today and now, the 1000 Century and Century Series (premium version of the 900 and the version with the wider cab) are two separate but parallel designs. The only true visible difference that I've found, is that the rear portion of the cab is wider on the Century than on the 1000. Yes, they are two different models (not models as in what we build, but models as in the different types).
  9. Just wondering... Did you happen to take these pictures, which are very nice by the way, on the hood of another Dodgr Viper?
  10. Actually I know it's a 1000 series because on the box, it says, under the American LaFrance emblem, "1000 Series" or something of the sort. And Jim, yeah I saw you post on this. I'm actually using it as a resource for me because I have no paint guide with my kit. And the engine came like that. I bought this kit, along with about 9 others, used (only about 5 or 6 kits had absolutely no assembly work on them). So the engine came in yellow and red. And I'm not about to repaint it because I don't want yo get any paint on the chrome. Also, Jim, where did you get those hoses that you have in the hose bed?
  11. I know there's been a few of these trucks built before on this site, and I guess I'll a shot at trying this truck as well. Well... Continuing to build anyways. I started this truck a bit ago, at least in the beginning of the month, and I've made some progress. When I got the truck, the engine block (just the block, nothing else), the frame, the radiator and housing, and the tires were assembled and a few parts were already painted. So far this is how far I've come: As of late last night, I attached the completed engine to the frame and earlier, the radiator/housing to the frame as well. If anyone has suggestions, or a paint guide... I'd appreciate it.
  12. Every person needed has already been picked. I don't pick any the people. Everything is already set
  13. Thanks, Harry. I have my Eagle Board on the 21st of this month so... I'm psyched and nervous at the same time.
  14. Hm... Good point. I keep my brushes in the cases before I use them.
  15. I tend to not use acyrlics. I just don't find them to my liking for some reason. I have some acyrlics, but those are the Tamiya which I bought to paint my USS New Jersey. But I'll have to check them out. Some of my enamels are bubbling on me. Like on my hood for my '70 Challenger. I had ordered a replacement because the one I got with the kit was warped. When the replacement came in, and when I painted it, my gloss black was bubbling everywhere for some reason. So I'll check out those acyrlics. See if they work better for me.
  16. Thanks for the welcomes everybody. An' maybe, one day, us lawn guylander guys can go out and get a cup'a coughfee. Lol. Thanks for the welcome again.
  17. For all my enamels I'm using Testors and Testors' Model Master. I'm brush painting but I do have an airbrush but I haven't used it yet because I have no place to use it. I'm currently in the process of designing my own paint booth.
  18. Hey. Yes, I'm new. And I've been working on a Mobius Models 1953 Hudson Hornet for the past few months. I'm pretty much almost finished with it, all I need to do is some trim touch ups, order a new piece of suspension, and assemble the rest. Here's where it's been and where it is so far: Well... When I started out (taking pictures that is) I had, basically, the entire body masked. And the engine was yellow instead of what looked like it should have been bronze or another similar color: The interior was OK. Had the customary blue and such (no, the white areas are NOT white paint, thats bare plastic): Now all of the above I've redone (mostly) and this is what I have so far: Of course, the engine has been completed with only minor incident... But I dont have a picture of it yet. Everythings been painted so far. I also painted the car interior (roof and supports) that lighter blue color. I had actually mixed it myself and I'm currently trying to get it reproduced so I can use it again. So far this is mostly what I have done. I have more finished but I don't have pictures or I think that the post would get too long if I did post enough pictures... So what does everyone think? Yes I'm working this model.
  19. Lol. Yeah. And frankly, I actually thought the Countach was around 1/25 when I first saw a picture of it. I had bought these off craiglist and the pictures weren't too detailed or very good overall. The Countach was basically stuffed behind some other kits (it was a lump buy of like 10 kits overall; 1 being built, 1 thrown away, 5 awaiting to be built, and 4 (3 model kits, 1 model rocket) are on the chopping block), including a huge 1/48 C-130 Herc... Recently I've been doing a lot of research for my Hudson Hornet and a ALF 1000 Century that I'm making (the one being built out that lump buy). Currently I have about 6 or more kits in the works. And frankly, if I was to join a major league, I'd rather be shooting a hard one. I'm just in baseball so I can stay fit and in shape over the summer. Are you from Long Island?
  20. Hey everyone. I'm Michael. I'm new to this forum, but not to model building. I've been building since I was, about... 4 years old, I believe. I'm 17 so it's been a few years. I mostly build 1/48 aircraft (mostly this) and 1/24-1/25 cars. I do have one 1/12 Lamborghini Countach, though, that I recently acquired... I am a Boy Scout, almost an Eagle Scout, and I play hockey year round and baseball in the summer.
