Bare plastic here if I haven't done any significant body work. Coming from the armor side , spraying primer was frowned upon since details would get covered up. I figure the plastic is smooth enough after a proper cleaning

Cant wait to see your progress, the color choice sounds great

Ben -Thanks for the Intel on the stone guards

First update for the kickoff..the frame going together. I cleaned off the ejector pins inside the frame rails for better fit..guess it helped .
Of course with these amt kits..fits together and good instructions are subjective..still haven't figured out the fit of the trunnion support rod.
Instructions show the bar fitting down in the fish mouth grooves..not happening. Any tips ?

Wow that looks awesome

Very cool truck !
What's the purpose of the screen below the windshield ? I assume it's an aussie thing since it has a roo catcher too, stone deflector maybe ? The reason I ask theres pics of aMack Ultraliner with the same screen looks killer

Thanks Brian !
I'm starting the build today..just a few errands to tackle ! Quick visit to eye dr for new glasses , been noticing a change sucks getting old

Which artograph booth do u have ? I just ordered the 1530 for painting after talking w tbill who owns one and highly endorsed it. Venting it outdoors thru a window should handle most your fumes
I've also used Createx Wicked Paints and love them..but their not available in spray cans

Looks like a fantastic project

Cant wait to see more !

Great choice Jim ! These IH trucks really fit together well and look killer when complete. Really like your paint scheme it looks very classic
I spied a Brockway lurking in the background too nice truck

Really looking forward to your build , the box art is sharp .
Hmm..car hauler ..loaded with...? You really want to give Chris a stroke dont you lol

Wow Dan that's gonna be a great project, really looking forward to your progress
Did you pickup the heavy duty front springs from Dave also ?
Those KFS parts look great, knowing Howard their top notch

The engine should probably be an Eco-Dyne , which doesn't look significantly different . Looks like instead of gold it's more gray, please correct me if that's wrong
I may drop a set of Gary Wallaces SOS Drive tires on this..my kit rubber doesn't look very good.

Jimb- I just looked ...and it has BOTH ! Neither are chromed looks more like a vocational truck this reissue . I'll use the updated rounds for this build since the company I'm building it as had late 80 early 90 Mack's. The etch grill came from Detail Master and looks fantastic.

Haha Haha I do have a trend of changing parts mid build..ok I'll leave the kit engine in this one no Detroit lol
Noticed this box art has spokes , where the one I received from tbill in a trade has really nice Alcoa wheels..hmm kitbash

Heres my intended build for the 2019 build off the venerable Mack R model
Only thing I plan on changing is the grill to the newer style , and just received the gorgeous decals specifically printed for this build from Diecast and Decals . Once finished its tasked w hauling the dry bulk tanker I'm currently working on..
See ya on 1 February 2019 !

Moluminum sells those longer type shown right now in rubber, I've used them several times.
The other type would be interesting for hoods though
