  1. I was able to tinker around on this for a couple mins today and got the firewall roughed in. After some filing and sanding I believe it'll work out great. Thanks everyone for looking. Hosted on Fotki
  2. That's Tyrone. Didn't even think of them and I used to hang out with Tim. Lol. Wish he had not sold the car BC then I couldve gotten all the pics I wanted. Thanks again everyone for looking and I'll be posted more pics soon.
  3. If anyone sees anything I'm doing wrong plz let me know. I know there's a lot more bars to add and I'm still trying to figure out the back half. I'm actually kinda lost on it right now. I'm trying to find a few decent reference pics to give me some ideas but I'm not having a whole lot of luck. Just a lot of bars back there and not really sure how to start it out. So any advice or criticism is welcome. Thanks to everyone that has talent the time to look. I haven't shown a model in a contest in yrs BC I didn't feel I was up to the skill level to be competitive. I know this stuff is for fun but I've been raised up and actually been involved in many high end show car builds plus my dad has a car he shows and that is a very competitive sport. It kinda rubbed off on me and I put that mindset into my model building. Sometimes that is good BC it makes me push myself to the limits but it is bad also BC u end out feeling like u let yourself down when u don't win or even place at a show. But I'm working on that and trying to just have fun with my builds now. Anyways I'm just rambling. Everyone enjoy and have a great day. More pics soon.
  4. Thanks tyrone. I doubt it'll be as nice and detailed as your builds but I'm giving it all I can. Thanks again for lookin .
  5. A few more pics. Just a mock up engine. Still trying to find another NASCAR SB2 like this one though. Thanks for looking. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  6. Just a few progress pics and a couple mock ups just to give me an idea of how itll look. Still a ways to go. Hope everyone enjoys. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  7. I'm gonna work on the firewall and finish the front suspension mounts later today and I'll post some pics. I'm really enjoying this build so far and reading everyone's comments are keeping me motivated and also helps me from get frustrated and giving up on it. Thanks to everyone that's watching.
  8. Thanks Tyrone. Watching your builds and many others on here have inspired me to give scratch building a chassis finally. Hopefully I'll be able to pull it off. Thanks again man. Keep up the awesome work on your current builds.
  9. Hey john. I'm loving this build. I finally have started my first build in forever and have it posted in the drag cars section. U and a lot of others on here are a big big inspiration to me. I'm not as good as u guys but I'm gonna try to make this one as nice as I possibly can. I have a few other projects planned but they aren't drag cars. They are gonna be more along the lines of replicas of a few of the past ridler great 8 contenders over the past couple yrs. Thanks so much for posting your builds and progress BC it helps me and I'm sure a lot of other along the way and really makes me wanna push myself to the limit. Keep up the awesome work. Can't wait to see more.
  10. I got the rear 4 link frame brackets mounted and now working on the front suspension brackets. Thanks everyone for looking. Hosted on Fotki
  11. Added a couple more bars up from for the motor plate mounts. Hope to have more pics soon. Just a slow process since this is my first time attempting a full chassis. Thanks for looking. Hosted on Fotki
  12. I was already thinking about that one. That's the baddest radial cat on the planet right now. Gotta love radial tire racing. Best racing I've watched in yrs. Thanks for looking.
  13. Thanks Len. Its just a slow go BC this is my first scratch built chassis and all so its a learn as I go thing. Hopefully it'll turnout as good as I'm hoping it will.
  14. This is something I've been messing with over the last couple months. Still have a ways to go but I'm slowly making progress. I'd like to thank Chief Joseph for his great looking drag radials and thank Micro Nitro for the awesome set of wheels. Hope every likes. Also a thanks to Extreme Scale Details and Futurattraction for some of the other great parts I'm using. Will have more updates soon. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

  16. Thanks a lot for the help. I'll post a couple pics of the car I'm trying to replicate. Hope u all like it.
  17. I'm planning a project and was wanting to see so of yalls C4 corvette suspension conversions. I'm building a 69 Camaro and I'm just trying to get ideas and trying map out a plan before I get started. If there's anyone that can help that would be great. Everyone keep up the awesome work on this forum.
  18. I was actually at the show and agree. Not my favorite car but was really nice. The Camaro and the Chevy ii were my favorites for the ridler. I have many pics of all the great 8 but really like those two for sure.
  19. Thanks for the replies. I mainly build 1/24-1/25 scale. Im hoping jim from micro nitro will chime in on here and give some pointers or possibly recommended tools ill need for machining the wheel centers. I have a few project of replica isca showcars im wanting to build but there will be a lot of custom machined parts including wheels that will need to be done. So im just wanting to get all the advice i can before i drop 5-6 gs on the setup. Some think im crazy for spending it but i believe it will pay off down the road. Plus im hoping to be able to also machine custom pieces for other builders. Theres alot of parts id like to see offered and noone has been willing to do it bc of the extreme time it would take to do some of them which would make the cost much higher. Well im not saying id be able to do it any cheaper at least until i see how long it would actually take to do it. But all this is just ideas right now. Mainly wanna get a really nice setup first then see where it goes from there. Again thanks for your replies. Keep them coming.
  20. I plan to buy the sherline cnc mill and lathe package within the next month or so and wondered if its a good investment. It comes with the rotary table and many other attachments but i know that there will be more things needed once i get more into it. I do know a good bit about cad design and all that so i shouldnt have any issues there. I have a lot of projects on hold bc they need some one off wheels or other parts and figured it would save me some money over time instead of paying someone else to do it. Is this a good setup to invest in or should i not bother. Hopefully someone on here can point me in the right direction. Everyone have a great day.
  21. I was wondering whatever happened to modern motorsports. They had some really great nascar parts. Ive wanted to attempt a nascar model for a whilee now but wanted to attempt a really super detailed model and they had some really great parts and now i dont really know where to find any of that kinda stuff. Does anyone know where i can find any nascar detail items. Like duct work and unusal item that im not familar with bc im used to old muscle cars and drag cars. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone for your time.
  22. Dave your work is superb. I hope im half as good as this in the future. Your work is an inspiration. Thanks for everything. Keep up the awesome work. Cant wait to see more.
  23. Very well said. I love watching builds like this but i dont post my builds bc of the simple fact i dont wanna be discriminated against or anything like that. Builds like this make me wanna push myself. I hope to be as good as some of these guys one day but may never get there. Its truly a talent these guys have and i love each and every post that they put up. Its inspiration for me. Guess u could consider them some of my role models in this hobby. I also do fullsize builds and have my role models for that also that i look up to. It is good to voice your opinions but there are other ways to voice to where it doesnt sound so hateful. It could cause these guys to get discouraged and stop posting period and then that would make a lot of us unhappy. I dont know about everyone but i look forward to updates on builds like this. Great job and keep up the good work. Cant wait to see more.
  24. The green is a factory mustang color. Its called calypso green if i remember right. Its a really sweet color and would look great on this car. Im really liking this build. Cant wait to see more.
